enabling conditions for economic transformation are urgent needs to
overcome these challenges.
Natural ecological conditions and the region's development history
have shaped its language, cultural characteristics, education, and human
resource quality. The local Vietnamese dialect, with its distinctive features,
enriches the national language and reflects the people's character—modest,
sincere, open, and practical. However, education and training in the region
still fall short of meeting development needs, requiring the collective effort
of families, communities, and society. Investment in education and raising
awareness of the importance of general education are essential for cultivating
a new generation of workers with the knowledge and skills needed for
sustainable development.
Youths play a vital role in tackling the region's economic, social,
and environmental challenges. With their access to information and creative
potential, they serve as a critical driver of innovation. Building and nurturing
a capable and responsible youth generation not only shapes cultural behaviour
within the community in the modern era but also promotes socio-economic
development and preserves indigenous culture in today's world.
The socio-economic and cultural characteristics of the region,
influenced by its natural resources and "river culture," form a solid
foundation for sustainable development. The integration of culture and
natural ecosystem management plays a vital role in ensuring long-term
resources and creating values for safety, prosperity, and sustainability.
Building on the local ecosystem, fostering behavioural changes, tapping into
cultural strengths, and enhancing human resources through education and
training will empower the Mekong Delta region to maximize its potential,
overcome challenges, and achieve sustainable development.
