Based on the Party and Government’s strategic orientation for regional sustainable development, Can Tho University (CTU), with its resources and mission, has presided over the Forum on the Sustainable Development of the Mekong Delta - Vision 2045 (SDMD 2045) to connect and cooperate with domestic and foreign stakeholders to integrate national and international collaborative research and development activities, with the goal of contributing to the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region with a vision to 2045.

In the framework of the SDMD 2045 Forum, on 30th March 2023, CTU organized and hosted the live dialogue themed “Improving the quality of education for integration and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta”, which was joined by representatives of over 100 international organizations, the central and local agencies and departments, educational institutions and enterprises with thousands of online participants.

Within SDMD 2045 Forum, regular live dialogues will be held every quarter, specifically in March, June, September, and December each year with various topics. In the first quarter of 2023, the regular dialogue on “Improving the quality of education for integration and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta” is aimed at sharing information and experiences, and discussing in-depth solutions for improving the quality of education, contributing to the integration and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta.
It is worth concluding, in the dialogue, that “Human resources are placed first” and “Education is an important factor”. Mechanisms and policies are the core issues, and international cooperation plays an important role in improving education and training quality. Therefore, it is necessary to call for the participation and contribution of international organizations to the development of education and the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta.
