Overall Objective

To provide reliable water improvement through the Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS) for sustainable development of shrimp farming in the Mekong Delta.

Specific Objectives

·        Implement the water treatment test for shrimp farming through Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS) on a demonstration scale in Can Tho Aquaculture Demo Farm.

·        Implement a recirculatory aquaculture system at medium-scaled intensive shrimp farms in the Mekong Delta.

·        To assess the viability of RAS for intensive shrimp production

 

Activities

 

-         Implement the IMT-RAS pilot at Demo farm on CTU campus: design of the IMT- RAS Demo systems for shrimp culture and operation of the systems

-         Implement the RAS pilot at the Demo farm in Soc Trang

-         Training and workshop

Outputs

·        Report 1: Technical report on the implementation of the water treatment test for shrimp farming through the Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS) on a demonstration scale in Can Tho Aquaculture Demo Farm

·        Report 2: Technical Report on Implementation of recirculatory aquaculture system at medium-scaled intensive shrimp farms in the Mekong Delta

·        Technical guidelines on the recirculatory aquaculture system developed at medium-scaled intensive shrimp farms in the Mekong Delta.

·        Scientific paper on implementation of the water treatment test for shrimp farming is published in Can Tho University Science and Technology Magazine
